You’ll find that I’m always looking for ways to make the web work for your organization — I’m not stuck on this technology or that approach — but I have seen a lot of things work (and not work) for others. Your project will benefit from that experience.
Keeping up with “what’s new” in web development is an endless pursuit. I stay on top of the latest developments, but I also try to walk the line between being up to date and wasting time on every new fad that comes along. Similarly, I try pretty hard not to get stuck on a particular approach as “the way things are done.” It’s all about keeping an eye on the future and not getting stuck in the past.
To keep things focused, when planning your web projects, I always try to tie things back to the tangible goals of your organization, rather than getting bogged down in technical finesse or eye-candy hoopla. If there’s a reason for the fancy stuff, then by all means we can use it, but first and foremost, lets stick to the basics and put that website to work with a focus on communicating your message and driving your visitors to the specific outcomes you’re seeking.
